First time out the water ?

While with the French a hull inspection finds it in good order. So they cleaned it and put a new coat of anti fouling on.

They serviced the engine which hadn’t been started for a while (a new starter motor and ignition switch were installed), and they changed the gearbox oil.

The sea water inlet for cooling the engine was replaced, as well as some anodes, and the valves serviced. A lot of the electrics were rewired plus a new anchor and deck light that she didn’t have before were fitted. An old VHF radio, an echo sounder and an auto-helm from the last century were removed. Two new battery banks were installed, all the sheets and halyards everywhere have been replaced. Plus we got an autopilot by Raymarine installed and a new tender.

The manual Henderson bilge and toilet pumps were serviced and fitted with new repair kits. A new water pump was installed for the plumbing, its big enough to eventually power a shower too.

Plus all the portholes as well as the main hatch were dismounted and re glued with new sealant.

Everything needed for a safe dry passage across the Mediterranean towards the east.
